About Counselling

Sometimes when faced with a life-changing decision or at a time of crisis (such as a bereavement, job loss or relationship breakdown), it can be difficult to gain perspective on what direction your life might take. Counselling offers you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental setting in which to explore any issues. Through enhancing awareness of these issues, you are providing yourself the freedom to negotiate a greater choice in your emotional responses.

In a therapeutic setting, you can express yourself openly. Counselling provides a space for you to be heard. My role is to help you to make sense of difficult thoughts, emotions and feelings, and to see new perspectives and possible opportunities.

Counselling is a restorative and healing process, but it can also be difficult at times, and as such, requires a fully committed approach. Therapy can be empowering and one in which you can gain effective strategies for dealing with many issues in life.

Through the process of therapy, you will become more self-aware of your own thoughts and feelings, gaining your own insights and eventually reaching a point of self-actualisation. This might involve healing any psychological wounds that have been preventing you from living in the moment.
